Playing the Blues in Fountain Inn for 18 Years

This past weekend people from near and far joined us in Fountain Inn for the 18th Annual Mac Arnold Cornbread and Collard Greens Blues Festival. Mac brought his band Plate Full O’ Blues for a day full of great food, amazing music, and fun for the whole family. With the weather being just about perfect, this FREE event included a Jeep Jam, Spring Market, Rib Eating Contest, Kids Zone, Food Trucks, and of course lots of live music from blues artists around the country.

Some very enthusiastic Jeep lovers entered the Jeep Jam displaying over 100 unique, personalized, and ducked out vehicles lining up and down Main Street Fountain Inn. Each registered and attending Jeep owner received a raffle ticket upon entering the event. The raffle tickets were pulled for $100 gift cards for the following local businesses: The Farehouse, Burdette & Co. Hardware, and Voodoo Brewing. Each entrant also received an adorable sax playing Fountain Inn duck for joining the fun!

In addition to our already fabulous shopping merchants on Main Street, the Spring Market brought local vendors with their handmade goods and craftsmanship. Some of these incredible items included candles, jewelry, glass art, metal work and home décor. If you missed the market, some of these vendors will be joining us at our Farmers Market beginning in May.

Cornbread and Collard Greens weren’t the only thing being enjoyed! Bobby’s BBQ was kind enough to sponsor a Rib Eating Contest right before Mr. Arnold and his band went onstage. The 10 contestants, including Mayor G.P. Mcleer, each had four ribs that they had to eat as fast as possible. The winner took home a full belly, a hat and a $50 gift card donated by Bobby’s to enjoy some additional deliciousness.

If you didn’t feel like eating ribs or collard greens, there were still plenty of food options to choose from. Special menu items were offered from our resident Main Street restaurants including Upstate Growers Market, Boba Ocha Tea, Voodoo Brewing Co and Steam Coffee & Cream. Of course there were also food truck vendors like Da Real Creole Queen, Brain Freeze, Daddy's Cookout, Dial Company Fish and More, Rick's Lemonade, and many more!

The Mac Arnold Cornbread and Collard Greens Blues Festival is the kick-off to Main Street Fountain Inn’s event season. We hope everyone had a wonderful time! All of our events are listed on our Events page on our website and are published on our social media channels. Follow along for updates and upcoming things to do in Fountain Inn!
