How It Works
The appearance of a community is shaped by the condition of its buildings. Because that appearance forms the foundation of the public’s overall impression, the improvement and preservation of downtown properties are essential to sustaining a vibrant and prosperous district. The City of Fountain Inn and Main Street Fountain Inn encourage commercial property and business owners to take advantage of the Main Street Grant when planning exterior improvements.
The Main Street Grant provides financial assistance to support façade renovations and preservation efforts that:

Create an attractive and welcoming environment for shopping, working, and gathering

Preserve the unique historic character of downtown

Attract new businesses and investment

Encourage high-quality repairs and improvements using durable materials
Funding is limited, and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Projects must be located within the Main Street Program Area and comply with all program guidelines. All improvements require prior approval and must be completed by properly licensed contractors.
