From Canada, to France, Australia and of course the US, Valentine’s Day is celebrated all over the world. Many little girls’ first “love” is their daddy. And so, in recent times, we’ve seen an increase in celebrating this relationship with dinners, gifts and dances. In Fountain Inn, we held the 3rd Annual Ties and Tiaras event for little girls and that special man in their life.
The normally bare gymnasium at the Fountain Inn Activity Center was transformed into a sparkling red, silver, and pink setting fit for a princess. Upon entry, each little girl received a rose and a gift bag including candy, bubbles and of course a tiara. DJ E Money kept the young ladies entertained throughout the evening with popular songs and activities like the “Twist” and “Cha Cha Slide”. Each table was decorated with roses shaped like teddy bears, candy necklaces courtesy of Candy and Chronicals, and a scattering of chocolate kisses.
Catering from award-winning Bobby’s BBQ was served, including macaroni and cheese as well as chicken nuggets for those not so easy to please kiddos. Dessert included various flavored cookie options from Fountain Inn Bakery, Cakes to Dye For. In addition to yummy food and busting out their dance moves, the girls were treated to a special visit from Kennedi Jeter, Miss Fountain Inn 2023. Each little girl was invited to take a picture with their special guest in front of a shiny pink sequined backdrop covered in pink, red and silver balloons created by Kimblu Balloons.
Guests included everyone from Fountain Inn’s Mayor G.P. Mcleer to local friends, business owners and neighbors. The City’s Administrator, Shawn Bell stated, “As a proud “girl dad”, I’m so thankful to be part of a community that embraces and celebrates the male influences in our young females’ lives. My girls and I look forward to this special event every year.”
The Ties and Tiaras event typically takes place on the second Saturday in February and tickets sell out quickly. Follow the City of Fountain Inn for all updates on all our events.
