The Fountain Inn Police Department is more than just our local law enforcement agency; it’s a cornerstone of community engagement and support. Through a variety of innovative programs, the department fosters strong relationships with residents, ensuring a safer and more connected community. The FIPD works collectively with the Community Relations department and Main Street Fountain Inn throughout many of their public events. Together, the two groups work together with the goal of supporting and building upon the community spirit within Fountain Inn.
Although they are law enforcement, the Fountain Inn Police Department does so much more than just protect the public.
Here is a small list of the programs the Fountain Inn Police Department provides to the community:
Citizen’s Police Academy: A 12-week program giving the chance for residents to get a behind-the-scenes look at law enforcement operations. Participants gain insights into police procedures, fostering transparency and mutual respect between officers and the community.
Superhero 5K: An annual fundraising event that brings out the superhero in everyone! This 5K run/walk supports The Little White House, a local non-profit dedicated to children on the autism spectrum. It’s a fun way to get active and support a great cause.
Community Officer Drug Education Program (C.O.D.E.) Targeting 5th graders, this 20-week program educates students on the dangers of drugs, peer pressure, and personal safety. It’s a proactive approach to keeping our youth informed and safe.
Neighborhood Watch Programs Residents can collaborate with the police to keep their neighborhoods safe. These programs encourage vigilance and community cooperation.
S.A.F.E. Program Designed for families with special needs members, this program ensures that responders have crucial information to assist in emergencies, promoting safety and understanding.
Senior Watch Program This initiative focuses on the well-being of senior citizens, providing regular check-ins and support to ensure their safety and health.
Recently, we celebrated National Night Out with the community, FIPD, FIFD, and other local community programs. This national event is designed to strengthen the relationship between the community and the police department. It promotes community-police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It gives an opportunity for residents to meet local officers, learn about safety programs, and enjoy a fun evening with family and friends.
DJ Mike started the party by getting everyone out for the Cha-Cha-Slide while some of the kids played inflatable laser tag, a bounce house and explored fire trucks. Free pizza, hot dogs, mac and cheese and ice cream were donated by local restaurants. Everyone went home with free giveaways including police uniformed rubber ducks, foam police cars, frisbees, bags and much more! It was a fantastic opportunity for the community to get some one-on-one time with their local police officers.
Whether you’re participating in a community program with the Fountain Inn Police Department or strolling down Main Street, Fountain Inn offers a unique blend of safety, charm, and southern hospitality. Come and experience the warmth and community spirit that make this town truly special.
